The possibility that material objects are labyrinths.

We may attempt a descent into an object in search of beliefs, of a world presented in an account; but we will not find one—or at any rate, we will not find one. We will founder in the object, unless our intention is to discover that very labyrinth, and at its heart, a certain inner stillness.
